Israel said on Thursday it had killed the nephew of Hezbollah leader Naim Qassem in an overnight raid on Beirut, as Israeli attacks on Lebanon continued despite a ceasefire declared in the US-Israel war with Iran.The army said: “The IDF bombed the Beirut area and killed Ali Yousef Harshi, the personal secretary and nephew of Hezbollah Secretary-General Naim Qassem.”

The IDF said Harshi was a “close aide and personal advisor… to Qasim and played a central role in managing and securing his office.”The attack came after Israeli attacks struck commercial and residential areas in central Beirut without warning on Wednesday, killing at least 182 people and wounding hundreds, according to Lebanon.
This was the bloodiest day in the recent war between Israel and Hezbollah.The Israeli army said it struck more than 100 Hezbollah targets within 10 minutes in Beirut, southern Lebanon, and the eastern Bekaa Valley.The attacks occurred hours after a ceasefire was announced in the US-Israeli war with Iran.US President Donald Trump told PBS News Hour that Lebanon was not included in the deal because of the Lebanese Hezbollah group.
When asked about the recent Israeli strikes, he said: “It is a separate skirmish.”Israel said the agreement did not include its war with Iran-backed Hezbollah, even though Iran said so.Black smoke rose over parts of Beirut while explosions rocked the city and ambulances rushed to the scene. Residential buildings were bombed. There was no indication that Hezbollah was launching attacks against Israel in the first two hours after the attacks.
