Producer Namit Malhotra spoke about the talks surrounding the first teaser of ‘Ramayana’ titled ‘Rama’, after its release on April 2. The teaser, in which Ranbir Kapoor plays Lord Ram, sparked an online debate, with many praising the film’s ambition and scale while others criticized the visual effects and character design and questioned the huge budget of Rs 4,000 crore.
The producer of ‘Ramayana’ is overwhelmed by the response
In response to the mixed reactions that flooded social media, Malhotra issued a statement on his account, in which he admitted that he was “surprised” by the public’s reactions. “The response over the past few days has been overwhelming, inspiring and truly humbling. Seeing how Rama continues to touch so many hearts around the world fills me with deep humility and joy,” he began his note.He went on to add: “I cherish all the conversations, excitement and comments.
“This is a story engraved in the hearts of billions and deserves the utmost care.”

Assuring everyone that the team noticed their feedback, he added, “Thousands of artists and collaborators who have been passionately working away are eager and eager to get out there and continue to deliver the absolute best in every department. We are listening closely, working hard, and making every effort to honor that with the reverence it holds.”
“This is our Ramayana. It belongs to all of us, and it is this shared sentiment and immense responsibility to make every Indian proud that drives me forward every day,” he said and concluded, “What you have seen so far is just the beginning… We all strive to bring our epic to life this Diwali on the biggest screens to celebrate our culture and history.”
‘Ravana ‘Teaser for the next release?’
With the teaser of ‘Rama’ released, the makers, in a recent interaction, claimed that the next big clip will be for ‘Ravana’. According to the director

the film will not depict Ravan as a negative character, but will depict his different aspects including those of a warrior, musician, king and devotee of Shiva.

Ravana also stars Sunny Deol as Hanuman, Ravi Dubey as Lakshman, Rakul Preet Singh as Surpanakha, Kajal Aggarwal as Mandodari, Indira Krishnan and Arun Govil as Raja Dashrath. ‘Ramayana’ will be released as a two-part epic, with the first part being released on Diwali 2026 and the second part scheduled to be released on Diwali 2027.
