Sunrisers Hyderabad opener Abhishek Sharma’s struggle with form continued as he registered another duck and entered the list of Indian batsmen with the most ducks in a calendar year in T20s.During the IPL 2026 match against Lucknow Super Giants, Abhishek was dismissed for a two-ball duck by Mohammed Shami. This was his sixth duck of 2026 in the T20s category, placing him alongside Rohit Sharma (six ducks in 2018) and Sanju Samson (six ducks in 2024) for the most ducks by an Indian batsman in a calendar year in the format, according to a report by news agency ANI.

Abhishek had a slow start in IPL 2026, scoring 55 runs in three innings, including 48 runs against Kolkata Knight Riders in the previous match.The top-ranked T20 batsman also had a tough time in the T20 World Cup, scoring 141 runs in eight innings at an average of 17.62 and a strike rate of over 158, including two half-centuries, one of which came in the final. He started that tournament with three consecutive ducks.Overall this year, Abhishek has scored 378 runs in 16 T20 innings at an average of 25.20 and a strike rate of over 195, with four fifties and a highest score of 84.In the ongoing match, Lucknow Super Giants won the toss and chose to field first at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium.

LSG made one change by bringing on Manimaran Siddharth in place of Enrich Nortje.
