After suffering serious injuries in a car accident on Tuesday in New Hampshire, Bob’s Burger Star Eugene Merman is speaking out to give an update on his recovery.
In an Instagram post, the voice actor shared a photo of himself holding a sign that read, “Life is an adventure.”
Merman wrote: “Hi everyone! Thank you so much for all the well wishes, love and sweet messages from friends and strangers. I am so grateful to the heroic people who got me out of the car and to the warm, kind and talented staff at the hospital who cared for me and helped me recover! I am so grateful to be here and doing relatively well, all things considered.”
Adding, “I don’t have my phone, so I haven’t been online much. I don’t recommend my method for reducing screen time. If you’re a friend who sends a kind, loving message, you should know that it was hard not to respond with, ‘I’d love to be on your podcast.’ I love you all and please take care of yourselves, Eugene.”
On Tuesday, a 2026 Lucid Gravity crashed at the Bedford Toll Plaza, and Merman was later identified as the driver of the vehicle, according to a New Hampshire Police news release. The accident was described as a single-vehicle collision.
Merman was pulled from the car as it burned through the window. After recovering, Merman was taken to a nearby hospital with “serious injuries.”
“It is certain that their actions were heroic in what they did,” Colonel Mark B. Hall said in a statement to those who helped Merman after the incident. “Without hesitation, they put themselves in danger to provide assistance to someone who needed it.”
Governor Ayotte also spoke out after the accident and wrote on
No charges have been filed at this time and the incident is being investigated.
Merman plays the title role Bob’s Burger Like Jane Belcher. He has appeared in all sixteen parts of the Fox animated series.
