Delhi will hold a mock exercise on Thursday, April 2, the Civil Defense Directorate announced. During this exercise, residents across the national capital are expected to hear air raid sirens and follow power outage protocols.

In the notification shared on April 1, the mock exercise was scheduled after a meeting with stakeholders from DDMA, Delhi Police, Indian Army, NDRF and various allied agencies.

As per the notification, the mock training will be active from 8 pm onwards.

She appealed to residents to remain calm and follow the instructions of the authorities present at the site. Here’s a look at what to do and what to avoid.

Do’s and don’ts of mock training

Dos

  • Stay calm and don’t panic
  • Follow the instructions of the authorities present
  • Ignore unnecessary rumors

Don’t do that

  • Do not create crowds or any other obstacles to movement
  • Not to obstruct the work of emergency services and first aid workers
  • Avoid spreading rumours

Residents are notified that this is Mock exercises And there is no danger of any kind.

The last time Delhi witnessed mock drills was during Operation Sindoor in May 2025, which sparked a military confrontation between India and Pakistan.

During Operation Abhyas, nationwide mock drills were conducted across the national capital under the directions of the Ministry of Home Affairs.

The exercise was distributed to 55 sites and 11 regions to test civilian readiness. Blackout protocols have also been implemented in key areas of Delhi such as Connaught Place and Khan Market.
