In a bid to earn easy money to enjoy a lavish lifestyle, a 21-year-old man from Delhi allegedly planned and carried out an armed robbery against his father to rob $10 lakh.

The accused, Tavleen alias Rehat, the victim’s son, orchestrated the robbery along with his two accomplices, Mohit Kumar Tiwari and Pankaj, both 22 years old. An official reportedly said that the three men had been arrested.

The complainant was riding a scooter and wearing masks, news agency PTI reported.

Mohit, who was sitting behind Tavleen on the scooty, fired two bullets in the air to scare the victim.

Pankaj, the third accused, was actively involved in planning and executing the armed robbery.

The incident was reported on March 31 and a case was registered at Lakshmi Nagar police station. Police launched an investigation and scanned more than 200 CCTV footage from the area and nearby roads to track down the suspects.

His companions flee to Bihar, and the gun is brought from Munger

An officer said that Tavlin, the complainant’s son, emerged as the main suspect in the case. He was reportedly caught trying to flee from Mukherjee Nagar.

The officer added that Taflin planned the armed robbery with his associates to obtain easy money to finance a luxurious lifestyle.

The remaining suspects, Mohit and Pankaj, initially fled to Bihar from Anand Vihar on a private bus. However, police officials tracked down the bus and intercepted it at Lucknow Toll Plaza, and arrested the two suspects.

During the investigation, the police also learned that Mohit had obtained the pistol used in the robbery from Munger in Bihar on his own behalf. $45000.

The police also found the stolen money and the motorcycle used in the crime. Further efforts are underway to recover the weapon and trace the source of the pistol.

Officials said that none of the accused had any criminal history, adding that further investigations were underway.

Earlier this week, a 40-year-old man was stabbed to death in Delhi’s Sultanpuri area by four men during an alleged robbery attempt.

The victim, Rajinder Kumar, was rushed to Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital, where he later died during treatment.

The man was reportedly on his way home when the attack, aimed at robbing him, occurred. The accused group tried to snatch his belongings and stabbed the man when he resisted.

Police also said that two men and two juveniles were arrested in connection with the case.
