In honor of Earth Day on April 22, the nonpartisan, nonprofit Environmental Action Group is teaming up with Mika Brzezinski and her Know Your Worth platform for an Earth Day Dinner.

The 16th annual event, scheduled to be held on the 22nd at the Skirball Cultural Center, amplifies the organization’s mission of supporting health, women and communities through science and clean environmental practices. Hilary Swank will be the special honoree at the dinner, where she will receive the Environmental Working Group’s Changemakers Award in recognition of her role in helping pass California Senate Bill 646, which requires manufacturers of prenatal vitamins to test and detect levels of potentially harmful heavy metals in their products.

“Receiving the EWG Changemaker Award is a huge honor, but the real victory is the progress we’ve made with California Senate Bill 646. As a mother, I believe every mother deserves the peace of mind that comes with knowing that the vitamins they take to support their pregnancy have been tested for the presence of heavy metals,” Swank said in a statement. “Our health is our greatest asset, and I’m proud to stand with EWG and HealthBaby to ensure that no woman is left in the dark about what she puts in her body. When we demand better standards, we’re not only protecting ourselves, we’re protecting the next generation.”

This gathering will bring together leading voices in the environmental movement and women’s health, including Miranda Kerr, who will speak about her holistic health journey and the mission behind her brand Kora Organics. Erin Foster will also participate in a panel titled “Engaging the Next Generation” alongside Brzezinski and her daughter, Emily Hoover, for a conversation about environmental health issues.

“I am grateful to partner with the Environmental Working Group and Know Your Value to highlight the importance of clean living and making informed choices about our health,” Kerr said. “We share a commitment to transparency and empowering people with access to information.” “Since day one, my focus with Kora Organics has been to move forward by creating results-based, certified organic skin care products that people can trust for themselves and their families. We follow strict third-party standards to ensure our products are made without unnecessary chemicals while still delivering visible results. When we prioritize our health and the environment, we make conscious choices that support long-term well-being and help shape a healthier future for everyone.”

Foster added, “I’ve always felt a deep responsibility to talk about environmental health, but the conversation changes when you realize how closely our personal health is tied to the products we use every day. I’m thrilled to be part of the Engaging the Next Generation panel to discuss how we can all become more conscious consumers and fierce advocates for a toxic-free future.”

Since 1993, the Environmental Working Group has highlighted outdated legislation, harmful agricultural practices and industrial vulnerabilities that pose a risk to human health and the environment, focusing on food, water, agriculture and agriculture, energy, toxic chemicals in everyday consumer products and various regional issues.

“Bringing together such influential voices as Hillary, Mika, Miranda and Erin allows us to amplify our message beyond the lab,” said Jocelyn Lyle, Executive Vice President of Mission and Partnerships at EWG. “This partnership highlights that environmental health isn’t just a political issue – it’s a personal issue.” “We are proud to celebrate 16 years of progress alongside women who are truly changing the world by knowing their worth and protecting our planet.”

Morning Joe Broadcaster Brzezinski also commented, “At Know Your Value, we empower women to recognize their value in every room they walk into. Partnering with EWG for Earth Day is a natural extension of this mission — because knowing your value starts with ownership of your health and the environment your family lives in. We want the next generation to lead with the confidence and clarity that comes from a healthy lifestyle.”
