'Kalamkaval' to 'Unda': Best Mammootty movies you can watch on OTT now

Siddharth underplays his character and you feel, initially, that he could have taken it to a higher level, but even with his measured voice and demeanour, he is arresting when the pace of the story picks up. He did a great job with the overall look of his character. Arjun Ashokan is also good.

Kaathal – The Core is a sensitive drama where Mammootty shines as a retired government officer. He deals with personal and societal issues after his wife filed for divorce.

Mammootty played a gay character under Jeo Baby’s direction and with subtle acting Mammootty convinces his character and also the ending of this movie leaves an impact among the audiences. Any star would think twice about playing such a role, and kudos to Mammukka for stepping into such a character.

“Onda” and “Kannur Band”

‘Unda’ is a realistic drama in which Mammootty leads a small team of Kerala Police to handle elections in a Maoist-affected area with limited resources.

The film beautifully balances humor and tension. It is streaming on Disney+ Hotstar.The film is directed by Khalid Rahman and interestingly, Mammootty will be collaborating once again in the upcoming film ‘Mattancherry Mafia’.‘Kannur Squad’ sees Mammootty as the head of an elite police team tackling a major crime case. Packed with action and powerful performances, ‘Kannur Squad’ has blended realism with the commercial aspect and it blends well too.‘Kannur Sqaud’ is available on Disney+ Hotstar and JioCinema.

And now comes one of the star’s most daring attempts to play a violent serial killer who preys on women. Mammootty is seen in a terrifying dual role as a ruthless serial killer and the investigating officerThe slow-paced narrative and intense acting have received great praise. ETimes’ review of the film says: “Mammootty’s star power is unmissable and he has some good ‘group’ dialogues, but the other actors, Ronny, Aziz Nedumangad, Shabareesh Varma also have backstories that give their characters some weight.”

Ankith Madhav does a commendable job as a UP cop, who becomes part of the team and guides them through the rugged and unfamiliar parts of North India.

Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakam

“Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam” is a unique drama in which Mammootty plays the role of a man who suddenly starts acting like someone else when he and his gang enter a strange village.The film explores identity and memory with quiet intelligence. The film is directed by Lijo Jose Pellissery and although it did not collect any huge amount at the box office, ‘Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam’ received good reviews from critics and audience. It is available on Netflix.
