Bimal Oberoi reveals multiple auditions for Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar; Ranveer Singh praises: ‘Not only was he Hamza, he was also from the first century AD’ | –

Actor-producer Bimal Oberoi, who plays the pivotal role of Shirani in Dhurandhar, recently spoke about landing the role and the transformation he underwent. The film is directed by Aditya Dhar.Speaking to NDTV, Bimal revealed that the casting process was not straightforward at all. “They had already shot a big part and were looking for this character. I auditioned several times over the course of a few months. They would send it out for feedback, call me back, and it would go back and forth. Then I met Aditya Dhar, and he asked me to grow a real beard and shave my head. I said yes straight away because it’s a great role. It took a lot of preparation.”

Since I resumed acting in 2018, this has become a very important opportunity for me.

‘Ranveer Singh “Own the movie like a star”

Bimal also received huge praise for co-star Ranveer Singh, who plays Hamza in the film. According to him, Ranveer’s involvement went beyond just acting.“Ranveer was very interested in the film; he owned it. During the shoot, not only was Hamza, he would also be the first AD, he would also be the producer, making sure that if someone new joined the production, because I joined very late, everything would be taken care of,” he said.

Recalling his first day on the sets, Bimal highlighted the support he received from Ranveer. “On my first day, we had a very emotional conversation before the crucial scene. He made sure that everything around me was perfect. Breaking the ice is very important. Even though he is younger, he looked like a senior professional. This made the scene like a picnic, and there was no inhibition after that,” he added.

Apart from Ranveer Singh and Bimal Oberoi, Dhurandhar: The Revenge features an ensemble cast including Sara Arjun, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, Rakesh Bedi, R Madhavan, Gaurav Gera, among others.
