Aamir Khan, known for his romantic comedies, revealed a surprising restriction in his childhood, as he was not allowed to watch romantic films. Despite his professional career, the actor admits that he rarely watches films, preferring to read and focus on filmmaking. He is now gearing up for several upcoming projects, including ‘Ek Din’ and ‘Lahore 1947’.

In a recent interaction, the actor spoke about his conservative upbringing and his unusual relationship with cinema.Amer admitted that even he finds his habits surprising, as he prefers reading to watching movies. He said he had been an avid reader since childhood and that black-and-white films were the only genre he watched consistently. Reflecting on his strict upbringing, he said in an interview with Variety India: “We were not allowed to watch films. So, at that time, I remember, if I asked my mother if I could watch a film, she would say yes, but romantic films were not allowed.”

Interestingly, despite being one of the biggest names in the film industry, Aamir revealed that he rarely watches films at all. “I started making films when I was 18,” he explained. “I started working as an assistant. I don’t want to sound condescending, but as a joke, I like to say that some people play football and others watch football. That’s a good way to put it. I make films, and I hardly watch them.”

He also hinted at another project titled Ati Sundar, which is expected to hit the screens later this year.
