Paresh Rawal hilariously claps at 'Uri' versus 'Dhurandhar' role comparison;

Paresh Rawal hilariously responded to the comparison between his role in Uri and R. Madhavan’s role in Dhurandhar, joking, “I didn’t smoke but I smashed phones.” Fans loved it. Meanwhile, Madhavan and Ranveer faced backlash over alleged smoking scenes in Dhurandhar 2, which director Aditya Dhar clarified included AI-generated images respectful of the Sikh community.

Aditya Dhar’s ‘Dhurandhar’ and its sequel ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ are two of the highest-grossing Hindi films of all time, and are particularly dominating the Indian markets. With this triumph comes the inevitable similarities to his 2019 blockbuster “Uri: The Surgical Strike.”

An X (formerly Twitter) user made a comparison between Paresh Rawal’s portrayal of National Security Advisor Ajit Doval in ‘Uri’ and R. Madhavan’s character in ‘Dhurandhar’, prompting Rawal to respond.

A user on In the photo, Barış says: “You may have won us the war, son.”

In response to the repost, the actor humorously noted: “Yes, I didn’t smoke but just broke phones” (laughter emoji).

Fans react to Paresh Rawal’s funny response

His fans had a mixed response, with one saying: “Ajit Doval looks like Bond. It’s an honor to play Bond. Roger Moore, Sean Connery, Pierce Brosnan, Daniel Craig. Likewise, you should be proud. :)” Another joked: “Sir, I think the phones are coming.” “I think he’s the best Duval,” one supporter said.

“Pareshji has personality and charisma,” but a defector responded, saying: “No offense to Paresh Rawal… but Madhavan has done a better job.

Smoking controversy in R Madhavan’s ‘Dhurandhar’

R. Madhavan, who played IB director Ajay Sanyal in Dhurandhar, recently had to explain a controversial scene. Social media was abuzz with pictures and clips of him smoking, claiming that he puffed on a cigarette during a recitation of the song Dasam Granth by singer Guru Gobind Singh Ji. In response to the Sikh community’s anger, he released an explanatory video.“I am sure that during this scene, before delivering the lines, Aditya Dhar, who cares about these things more than me, asked me to put out the cigarette in advance. He said no smoke will come out of my mouth, no smoke will appear on screen, there will be no cigarette in my hand as it is very pure and sacred for us,” Madhavan explained.

Backlash to Ranveer Singh’s ‘Dhurandhar’ AI photo

Then people accused Ranveer’s character Jaskirat Singh Ranji (aka Hamza Ali Mazari) of smoking while wearing a turban (paghdi). Aditya explained that the photo was taken by Amnesty International and said that the team has great respect for the Sikh community. ‘Dhurandhar 2’ opened in theaters on March 19 and is still running.
