Disney+ reveals the release dates for the Korean series “Gold Land” and “Perfect Crown”

Disney+ has set spring release dates for two of its anticipated Korean originals, along with a romantic comedy The perfect crown Premiering on April 10, it is a crime thriller Land of gold It will premiere on April 29 as the streamer continues to grow its Asian slate with star-led local productions.

The perfect crown IU and Byeon Woo-seok make their screen debut in a royal romance set against the succession politics and power struggles of Chaebol. Land of goldMeanwhile, it is described as a dark thriller: a runaway saga starring Park Bo-young as a young airport employee who gets involved in a smuggling scheme and finds herself on the run with a stash of gold bullion.

The perfect crown It follows Grand Prince I-AN, a famous royal, who is drawn into a power struggle within the palace, and who enters into a marriage of convenience with Huiju, the heiress to one of Korea’s largest conglomerates. Their arrangement begins as a strategy based on mutual benefit, but gradually develops into something more complex. IU plays Huiju, while Byeon plays the prince. The series is directed by Park Joon-hwa and written by Yoo Ji-won.

Land of gold comes from Old boy Screenwriter Hwang Joo-eun, making his debut in the live-action series, is directed by Kim Sung-hoon. The story revolves around Heejo, a small-town woman whose life seems to be on the right track after she starts dating a pilot and lands a respectable job at a nearby airport. However, her world falls apart when she is drawn into a smuggling operation and ends up fleeing dangerous pursuers with a stash of gold bullion in tow. Park Bo Young plays Heejo, while Kim Sung Chul plays Woogie, a member of the criminal organization she is hunting. The series will launch with two episodes on April 29, followed by two new episodes every Wednesday until May 27.

Together, these projects are part of an ongoing effort by Disney+ to expand its output of high-end East Asian originals, as the streamer aims to grow its base with a more consistent release cadence in some of the world’s competitive premium drama markets. On Wednesday, the streamer revealed a plan to remake the hit FX series Americans like Koreansa major reimagining in the local language starring Lee Byung-hun and Han Ji-min.
