Donald Trump has made a major claim amid the Middle East crisis, claiming that Iran is “on the verge of capitulation”. The US President said this during a virtual meeting with G7 leaders on Wednesday, as revealed by Axios, citing three officials from G7 countries.According to the report, Trump told the allies during the G7 call that he “got rid of the cancer that threatened all of us,” while talking about the outcome of Operation “Epic Fury.”Trump also reportedly said: “No one knows who the leader is, so there’s no one who can announce surrender.”The revelations come as Trump on Friday criticized Iran’s leadership, calling them “deranged bastards” and saying it was a “great honor” for him to kill them, as the conflict in the Middle East entered its second week with an intense exchange of drone and missile attacks across the region.
Referring to the broad operation carried out by the US military against the Islamic Republic, he said that Washington was carrying out strikes to “destroy the terrorist regime in Iran” militarily.Meanwhile, reports from the conflict in the Middle East indicate that Iran may have attempted to target the US aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72). Tehran also claimed responsibility for shooting down another American plane during a refueling mission, although Washington described the incident as an accident. However, US Central Command (CENTCOM) confirmed that “the Carrier Strike Group Abraham Lincoln continues to support Operation Epic Fury and the Enterprise Force from sea.”
However, she did not provide any details about the incident.
