“One Piece Season 2”: Ending explained
Drum Island is a forgotten corner of the world, shrouded in a blanket of snow and fear. The reindeer-turned-doctor who ate the human fruit, Tony Tony Chopper, has successfully lived a peaceful life with the gruff Dr. Kureha. However, the peace was short-lived, and King Wapol returned, determined to reclaim his throne.
He, who was brought to life by Rob Colletti in live-action, has the strange power of Munch-Munch Fruit.
He devours objects, his soldiers, and even castle walls, spitting them out as hideous weapons and armored minions.Princess Nefertari Vivi urges the Straw Hats to help. However, Monkey D. Luffy, always the hero, inspires Nami, Usopp, Sanji, Zoro and the others. The villagers, led by Dalton, also joined the rebel cause.
Sanji turns the game up with his fire kicks, while Chopper powers up the fight in his monster mode. Zoro cuts down the mechanical soldiers with his sword, and Nami uses her aerial tricks to give the Straw Hat Crew an advantage.
Battle in the castle
The battle rages as the combined Wapol army attacks the castle. Luffy attacks Wapol, but the King is difficult to defeat due to his regenerative abilities. Luffy fights with all his might and is left in bad shape.The tide of battle turns in favor of the Straw Hat Crew through a joint effort. Sanji catches Luffy hanging on Sanji’s leg with a kicking motion. Together, Sanji and Luffy drive Wabol away from the island into exile. Wapol’s army reverts to their normal form as normal humans.The Straw Hats’ victory brings happiness to Drum Island. Dr. Kureha pays her respects to her old friend Hyrilok by releasing her own cherry blossom medicine.As the celebration fades, problems arise elsewhere. Marine Captain Smoker and Lieutenant Tashigi intercept a crooked call from Den Den Mushi. This leads to the Straw Hats being incorrectly identified as Vivi’s kidnappers and collaborators with Baroque Works boss Sir Crocodile. The chase continues, foreshadowing more intense battles to come.This is a well designed Episode 8 which prepares fans for Season 3. The Straw Hats are now stronger sailors to face the challenges in the Grand Line.
