Once again, a leaked picture from the sets of ‘Ramayana’ is doing the rounds on the internet. This time, the pictures that have gone viral allegedly show Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi dressed as Lord Rama and Sita in the upcoming mythological epic.
The photos looked unusually clear and showed the two actors dressed in elaborate royal costumes, appearing to portray the divine couple in royal attire.
But the authenticity of these images quickly came under scrutiny. Fans wondered: Are these photos real or photos of artificial intelligence? Television actor Ashish Sharma, who played the role of Lord Rama in the serial ‘Siya Ke Ram’, has now confirmed that the pictures are fake.
On Saturday, several social media accounts began sharing pictures, which show Ranbir wearing a crown and ornate jewellery, staring ahead, while Sai Pallavi, also wearing a crown and heavy jewellery, looks on.
One widely shared post claimed, “Photos of Ranbir and Sai Pallavi from Ramayana leaked.” Others suggested that the pictures were from Ram-Sita’s wedding sequence in the film.
Will Vijay Sethupathi play Vibhishana in Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana?
However, many users online expressed doubts about the legitimacy of the images. The main reason was the unusually high clarity of something described as a “leak”. One user wrote: “Leaked photos can’t be this clear.” Another questioned the timing: “It should be Ram-Sita’s wedding in the first part, which wrapped filming last year.
How do these appear now? Some users even asked the AI chatbot Grok to analyze the image, seemingly supporting the suspicion that the images were fabricated.
According to Grok, “It is a facial edit from the old TV serial Siya Ke Ram, and not actual leaked images from the upcoming film. The actual leaks show Ranbir in a simpler outfit of a dhoti/wig.”Amid these speculations, Ashish Sharma stepped in to address the allegations.
Sharing one of the pictures that went viral on social media, he revealed that it was digitally edited from a still photo of his look in Siya Ke Ram. After posting the original frame alongside the edited version, the actor joked: “There you go. Another ‘original’ leaked photo. AI can’t replace my hair.”The television series Siya Ke Ram, which aired in 2015–16 on Star Plus, retells the Ramayana epic from Sita’s perspective.
Besides Ashish Sharma as Lord Rama, the show features Madirakshi Mundle as Sita, Karan Suchak as Lakshman, Karthik Jayaram as Ravana, and Danish Akhtar Saifi as Lord Hanuman. The upcoming film adaptation is directed by
