Bomb threat at Kansas City International Airport, passengers asked to evacuate immediately

Passengers were asked to evacuate Kansas City International Airport amid reports of a bomb threat. The evacuation began around 11:50 a.m. local time Sunday, according to X social media posts.

Others reported being moved from taxiway B to taxiway A and filtered down the runway via stairs with “emergency sirens” sounding in the background.“We have all been told to immediately arrive at the concourse A. K9 and agents everywhere. No planes on the runway,” one passenger wrote online.“The Kansas City Department of Aviation is aware of the situation at Kansas City International Airport (MCI),” an airport spokesperson said.

“As a precautionary measure, the administration has evacuated sections of the airport building.

An FBI spokesperson said: “The FBI is aware of the incident and our staff is working with partners at the city and airport to determine the credibility of the threat.” Flights to and from the airport were suspended. Traffic was also diverted away from the airport.While several videos showed the chaos that began to take over the airport after the reported threat, one showed how passengers were on the runway after the terminal was evacuated. Passengers on planes that had just landed at the airport after the threat was reported were trapped inside their planes.
