Shortly before 9:30 p.m. (local time) on Tuesday, emergency services responded to the 2400 block of Todd Lane, ctvnews.ca reports. It is not known if the suspect is in custody.

The victim was later identified in reports as a popular YouTuber and social media personality from Punjab, and a social media post by her family seemed to confirm this.

“With a very heavy heart, I share with you that my beloved sister, Nancy Grewal, passed away on March 3, 2026. I have lost my sister, my strength, and my forever friend. Rest in peace, sister. You will always live in our hearts,” a post on Nancy Grewal’s Instagram account was captioned.

Grewal-Windsor was reportedly found with injuries. Essex-Windsor Emergency Medical Services (EMS) took the victim to hospital but she later died from her injuries, police said.

As part of the investigation, LaSalle police cordoned off two residences, an empty parking lot and part of a wooded lot off Todd Lane.

“LaSalle Police Service extends our deepest condolences to Ms. Grewal’s family and friends, and to alleviate public concern, we announce that investigators are viewing this as an isolated incident,” police said in a social media post.

Grewal was known to be an outspoken critic of pro-Khalistan separatists, as stated in a separate Hizb ut-Tahrir report.

Grewal has often used her digital platforms to challenge separatist ideologies, often referring to her supporters as “Khotistanis” or fake nationalists.

Nancy Grewal’s YouTube channel, called Nancy Grewal Canada, has nearly 9,000 subscribers while her Instagram account – realnancygrewal – has nearly 12,000 followers.
