Earlier this week, Taylor Swift released behind-the-scenes footage from the recording sessions for “Opalite.”
Swifties are consuming any new content their queen has to offer, but this time, photos and videos are getting more attention than usual.
There are many reasons behind this, not the least of which is that Taylor appeared without makeup in the video, a move that was praised by many fans.
The snaps generated plenty of comments on social media, but perhaps none garnered more attention than X’s (formerly Twitter) post with nothing more than the photo above and the words “She’s pregnant.”
The poster did not explain their theory in detail, and Taylor’s pregnancy rumors are certainly not new, but these rumors have sparked a lot of controversy and discussion.
“My exact idea was to look at her nose. Her nose got fat that way in my first trimester,” one commenter wrote.
But this person was very much in the minority, with most people pointing out that this photo was old and contained no evidence of pregnancy.
One person wrote: “This video is from the summer of 2024. It is disgusting and reprehensible to comment on a woman’s body.”
Another added: “This is called being comfortable in our own skin.”
“This photo is from when TLOASG was being made, and we saw it because isn’t it? It’s a very strange assumption,” a third pointed out.
As for Taylor, she hasn’t commented on the controversy, but it’s clear she’s having fun sharing these new snaps with fans.
“Just some Opalite throwbacks to celebrate Hot 100 #1, you guys just got this song!!” When she shared the clip on Instagram, she wrote:
“I can’t even begin to express my excitement and I am so blown away by the love you have shown for this song and video.”
She also noted that this is only the second time two songs from the same album have risen to number one on the Hot 100 chart — her last being 1989 in 2014.
“I know that’s a lot of numbers, but it all adds up to me being so grateful to the fans who helped make this happen by welcoming this song into your lives with open arms,” Taylor added.
“Seriously bouncing off the walls about this!!”
She clearly has bigger things on her mind than pregnancy rumors. But you can expect her to be traded more often once she marries Travis Kelce!
