The makers of Yash’s Toxic today officially unveiled Akshay Oberoi as Tony and Sudev Nair as Karmadi in this high-stakes action saga. The two most interesting posters from the film have been released, revealing the characters of the two actors.
Akshay Oberoi as Tony in Toxic
Akshay’s Tony feels like he’s been plucked straight out of the 1950s. With long sideburns, a vintage silhouette, and an unmistakable old-world swagger, he arrives not just as a man who has witnessed violence, but as someone who has mastered it, suave yet dangerous.
Sudev Nair as Al-Karmadi
On the other side is the convincing Sudev Nair as Karmadi, who seems to have a spunky, grounded presence ready to get into the chaos. Low-slung flat hat, sharp moustache, fixed, unreadable eyes, revolver in hand, his gray carried a quiet intensity that spoke louder than action.
Speaking about Sudev, director Geetu Mohandas shared on social media:“This journey would have been much more difficult had it not been for the right casting for Karmade. I needed someone who could be there and calmly support the film, and Sudev made it easy. Having worked with him before, I knew the depth of his talent, and once again, he reminded me why I admire him so highly. His skill is powerful but understated, and he committed himself not just to the role, but to the entire journey of our film.”
He brought a quiet strength to every frame, depth without exposition, emotion without excess, and on set, he led gently, simply by example. I believe talent alone doesn’t take you far, good people do. And Sudev is not only here to stay, but to truly thrive.Jeetu, who works with Akshay, had this to say:“Working with Akshay has been one of those rare experiences that reminds me why I enjoy directing actors so much. What immediately stands out about him is his curiosity.
He doesn’t approach the scenario negatively; He questions her in the most thought-provoking ways. He asks questions not to give the work an intellectual character, but to deepen it. He wants to understand the emotional structure of a scene, what precedes it, what it costs, and what it leaves behind.
As a director, you don’t have to pull him towards the truth; He’s already looking for it. Akshay really enjoys acting. Even in the most intense and complex moments, there is a sense of discovery within. Watch out for this talent because he’ll kill it!The recently unveiled teaser has amplified the curiosity, clocking over 200 million views in 24 hours, while presenting Yash in a stunning, clean-shaven new avatar named ‘Ticket’ which immediately sparks multiple theories about a possible dual role.Written by Yash and directed by Jitu Mohandas, Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups will be shot simultaneously in Kannada and English, with dubbed versions planned in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and several other languages – underscoring its global ambition.Sam is scheduled to release in theaters globally on March 19, 2026. The film also stars Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Huma Qureshi, Rukmini Vasanth, and Tara Sutaria in pivotal roles.
