Following the directions issued by the Election Commission of India (ECI), Telangana Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) C Sudarshan Reddy held a training session for Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs) on Friday to speed up preparations.

During the training session, which was conducted online from the CEO’s office in Hyderabad, a total of 195 Eros from Medchal-Malkajgiri, Sangareddy, Ranga Reddy and Hyderabad participated.

During the programme, the Executive Director and other officials provided comprehensive guidance to Eros on the preparation, updating and maintenance of electoral rolls.

The official statement said: “Detailed instructions were issued on ensuring the inclusion of all eligible voters, deleting ineligible names, and correcting discrepancies in voter details. Emphasis was placed on adhering to legal procedures and timelines to maintain the integrity of the lists.”

Sudarshan Reddy directed the officials to complete all necessary preparatory measures well in advance to ensure smooth conduct and effectiveness of the upcoming SIR. He stressed that eros plays a pivotal role in maintaining the accuracy and purity of electoral lists, which constitute the backbone of the electoral process.
