QCIL to develop ‘CARE Hospitals’ with 350+ bed capacity in Nagpur, at investment of Rs 600 crore

Quality Care India Ltd (QCIL) will invest close to INR 600 crore in developing a 350+ bed hospital in Nagpur, a company note said.

QCIL has received a Letter of Acceptance (LoA) to develop this multi-specialty facility within the CARE Hospitals network that will serve both Nagpur and surrounding areas. Care Hospitals is part of QCIL, backed by private equity firm Blackstone. Besides CARE Hospitals, QCIL also runs Evercare Bangladesh and KIMSHEALTH Kerala.

The proposed hospital will be developed on Maha Metro land near Kastwarchand Park Metro station, a transit hub in Nagpur, the memorandum said. The memorandum said that the hospital will provide advanced tertiary and quaternary care services and is expected to enhance access to quality healthcare for patients across Nagpur and greater Vidarbha region. She added that the hospital will contain specialized centers for cardiology, oncology, gastrointestinal diseases, trauma care and neurosciences.

The memorandum said that the hospital is expected to begin operating in phases, in addition to creating more than 1,500 direct and indirect job opportunities.

Varun Khanna, Managing Director, QCIL Group, said: “By aligning healthcare infrastructure with urban development, we can create scalable models that deliver quality care beyond the metros. For cities like Nagpur, this collaboration is critical to strengthen regional healthcare capacity and address the long-term needs of Tier 2 and Tier 3 markets.”

Dr Pawan Kumar, CEO, Care Hospitals, added that the hospital will be designed to deliver high clinical standards while contributing meaningfully to the socio-economic infrastructure of the city. Besides CARE Hospitals, QCIL also runs Evercare Bangladesh and KIMSHEALTH Kerala.
