Penthouse: War in Life 2 continues the stories of the residents of the prestigious luxury apartment Hera’s Palace as the residents fight for wealth and power in the middle of… Betrayal, revenge and murder.

*Please note that there may be spoilers from the first season.

Eugene plays Oh Yoon Hee, who comes from a poor background and has lost her dreams of becoming a singer. But when her daughter wants to become a singer too, Yoon Hee will do anything to make her dreams come true.

Lee Ji Ah Ho Shim Soo Ryun. She lives a life of luxury in the penthouse apartment in Hera’s Palace. She does her best to be kind and be there for her family, but she soon discovers that dark secrets are hiding behind the perfect facade.

Then we have Kim So Yeon as Cheon Seo Jin who also lives in Hera Palace and has a bad history with Yoon Hee. She too will do anything to make her daughter successful.

Finally, there’s Uhm Ki Joon as Go Dan Tae. He is Soo Ryun’s husband and is a rich and powerful man who hides a very dark side.

Season 2 of Penthouse: War in Life moves forward and continues the story from where we left off at the end of Season 1. All the madness continues as we remain firmly in exciting makjang territory.

We have two episodes to redirect to where everyone is, but there are new plot developments from the beginning. Once again, the pace is very fast, and there are some great twists and turns that keep things interesting along the way.

You will find more revenge, intrigue, murder and affairs this time. There are also still a few cliches, loopholes, and convenient plot devices here and there, but as I always say, if you can handle them, it’s a lot of fun.

Everyone is still unlikable to some degree, but to varying degrees. We see softer sides to some of the characters as well as some unexpected alliances along the way. It’s another case where sometimes you support someone for a while, but the next thing you know they’re on the bad side again. It’s a lot of fun to have those moments where the bad guys are put in their place. You definitely have to taste them because you can guarantee they’ll be out of it soon enough.

The impressive cast of supporting characters returns, including Seo Jin’s deeply conflicted ex-husband Yoon Chul (Yoon Jong Hoon), gossipy mother Ma Ri (Shim Eun Kyung), mother’s lawyer Gyu Jin (Bong Tae Gyu) and his wife Sang Ah (Yoon Joo Hee), and Logan Lee (Park Eun Seok).

The teen actors also step up with Yoon Hee’s daughter Ro Na (Kim Hyun Soo), Yoon Chul and Seo Jin’s daughter Eun Byul (Choi Yi Bin), Dan Tae and Soo Ryun’s twins Seok Hoon (Kim Young Dae) and Seok Kyung (Han Ji Hyun), and Gyu Jin and Sang Ah Min Hyuk’s son (Lee Tae Fin).

Penthouse 2 was another exciting and engaging ride filled with revenge, deception and murder. It’s a great continuation of the story because it connects the characters in new and interesting ways while offering that grumpy goodness that I love so much. So enjoy round two of the madness!

My rating: 9/10
