During the film’s initial ambush, the actress, her clothes soaked in blood and holding a gun, instantly goes from fierce to comforting as she reassures her terrified son. “I’m so glad you found that out,” she says. “I may be fighting people, but I’m still talking to my son. I may be fighting people, but I’m still thinking about where the next person is. It wasn’t just about the slow-motion sequence; it was real. This required a lot of me as an actor, and of course I love the challenge of that,” she says.
