Legendary actor Robert Duvall, known for his roles in iconic films such as ‘The Godfather’ and ‘Apocalypse Now,’ has died, his wife Luciana confirmed in a statement on Facebook on Tuesday. Duvall’s cause of death was not released, but the statement said he died “peacefully at home.” The actor was 95.

(AFP)Luciana Duvall revealed that the family “says goodbye to my beloved husband, cherished friend and one of the greatest actors of our time.” He added: “Bob died peacefully at home, surrounded by love and comfort.”
“To the world, he was an Academy Award-winning actor, a director, a storyteller. To me, he was everything. His passion for his craft was matched only by his deep love of character, a great meal and holding court,” it continued.
Robert and Luciana Duvall lived in their home in Middleburg, Virginia. He is originally from San Diego, California.
