Mona Singhwho plays Sunny Deolwife in Border 2, revealed that the project has a deep personal meaning for her. Referring to the 1971 Indo-Pakistani War — the background of the film — Mona said that the script of “Borders 2” “chose” her. She explained that the emotional pull was instant and undeniable.“I am the daughter of a Fauji and my dad fought in the 1971 war,” she said.

The actress went on to say that one of the film’s key moments accurately reflects her father’s real-life experience during the war. In Border 2, Sunny Deol’s hero steps into a minefield, a scene that struck Mona with painful resonance.“They stepped on a landmine. My father (Jasbir Singh) lost his leg. So the determination, the resilience, the fear, the anxiety, the pathos and the pain that Simi Kaler’s character carries, I think I have already experienced all that because of my father,” shared Mona while interacting with the media in Mumbai.She emphasized that wars are not waged by the soldiers themselves, but also by their families, who endure uncertainty and silent suffering at home.Calling Frontier 2 a tribute, Mona said that being part of the film feels like an ode not only to her father, but also to the sacrifices of countless military families.

Set during the 1971 India-Pakistan War, Frontier 2 expands on the 1997 classic by depicting the combined operations of the Indian Army, Air Force and Navy, continuing to highlight the human cost of the conflict.
According to a report by Sacnilk, the film is doing exceptionally well at the box office and has so far collected Rs 316 crore in the country.Border 2 also stars Diljit Dosanjh, Ahaan Shetty and Varun Dhawan, along with Sunny Deol and Mona Singh.
