Farhan Akhtar ready to make his acting debut in Hollywood as a director Sam Mendesambitious “The Beatles – a cinematic event of four films”. The actor-director, who is in the news for his much-anticipated spy flick Don 3, is now heading to the West for his first Hollywood role. According to Variety, the actor will play the sitar maestro, who was a major influence on George Harrison and brought elements of Indian classical music to The Beatles’ music in the 1960s. As such, Akhtar joins a star-studded ensemble that includes

as Paul McCartney, Harris Dickinson as John Lennon, Barry Keoghan as Ringo Starr and Joseph Quinn as Harrison.Farhan’s casting comes along with a list of other Hollywood stars also joining the film.
Lucy Boynton joins the cast as Jane Asher, with Lord of the Rings star Morfidd Clarke as Cynthia Lennon (John Lennon’s first wife) and Harry Lawty as Stuart Sutcliffe, the band’s original bassist.

The role marks a major transition for Akhtar, who last ventured west with the web series Ms Marvel. The actor played a small but important role in the web series that brought Iman Vellani to the big screen as the Marvel superhero.

The ambitious Mendes-directed film will consist of four separate films, each told from the perspective of a band member. The film will reportedly chronicle The Beatles’ meteoric rise from Liverpool to global superstardom and their eventual breakup in 1970.
The Beatles have reportedly given the full life story and music rights to a feature film. All four versions will hit theaters in April 2028.

The announcement came amid the ongoing drama surrounding Don 3. According to the latest reports, Farhana’s Excel Entertainment has allegedly approached actor Ranveer Singh for a compensation of Rs 40 crore after he walked out of their film Don 3 due to creative differences.
