As Savannah Guthrie’s family became the focus of attention amid the search for her missing mother, the TODAY host once opened up about the miscarriage and two rounds of IVF during an interview with Good Housekeeping, which was featured in an April 2022 Motherhood cover story with fellow TODAY anchor Hoda Kotb.

When Savannah Guthrie opened up about her miscarriage and IVF journeyAfter the arrival of their daughter Val in 2014, Savannah and her husband, Michael Feldman, experienced the heartbreak of a miscarriage at age 41 and then went through two cycles of in vitro fertilization (IVF).

At 42, Savannah gave birth to Vale and shared her concerns about the challenges of motherhood later in life.

“I even stopped hoping or believing that I could (have a child) because the years went by. It’s not that I thought it was impossible; I just thought it wasn’t possible,” Savannah said in the interview.

Savannah told the magazine that she credits her mother with her ability to handle infertility.

“My mother got me through a personal trial in my 30s,” he said. “It was great to have her, because she was always so sure. She’d say, ‘Well, you’ll have a family, Savannah!’ It felt good.”

Savannah Guthrie welcomed her second child in 2016Savannah and her husband welcomed their second child, a son named Charles “Charlie” Max, in 2016.

“I knew a lottery ticket was a winner. So I never dreamed I’d have two kids. But with Charlie, I did IVF. So I would say Val was a miracle, and Charlie was a medical miracle,” Guthrie told Health in 2019, according to People.

At the time, Guthrie noted that she and Feldman discussed IVF extensively before deciding to move forward.

“I always say, Charlie was like the last egg. He really was,” Guthrie noted. “And we’ve been so blessed. Going through what we’ve been through, it makes you realize that everything has to go well for a healthy baby. I really feel for a lot of women who are struggling and wishing and wondering, ‘When will it be my turn?’ i know And I understand.”
