ransom “message”TMZ and CNN affiliate KOLD-TV were among media outlets that received the first suspected ransom note earlier this week, which demanded millions of dollars in bitcoins in exchange for Guthrie’s return. KOLD reported receiving a second, shorter message on Friday.
According to an official, the original message had two deadlines: one on Monday and one that had already passed. Cold anchor Mary Coleman reported that although the second memo contained critical information, there was no deadline.
