Savannah Guthrie turns to God for Nancy’s return”Mom, if you’re listening to this, you’re a strong woman, you’re God’s precious daughter Nancy,” Savannah said, addressing her mother directly in the video. Flanked by sister Annie and brother Cameron, Savannah added that they believed ‘even in this valley, he [God] with you.’
“We will not rest until we are together again. We talk to you every moment, and we pray without ceasing. We look forward to the day we hold you in our arms again,” Savannah ended her message with a ‘we love you’ note for their mom.

This isn’t the first instance Savannah has turned to God in her messaging. Also yesterday, the Today show host said in a post, “Please pray. We believe in prayer. We believe in unity, in love, in voices raised in hope. We believe in goodness. We believe in humanity. Above all, we believe in Him.”
While many have prayed for Nancy Guthrie’s safe return, the focus has been on both her and daughter Savannah’s religious beliefs during this difficult time.
“Grateful Savannah is relying on her strong Christian faith at this time,” one person commented on X. Another added, “Savannah prayed without quoting 1 Thessalonians 5:17 in her video. I hope her mom Nancy is found safe!”.
According to Bible Hub, this phrase refers to unceasing prayer, which Savannah promises to do until Nancy Guthrie returns. Notably, Savannah grew up Baptist in Phoenix, Arizona. While she is a practicing Christian, she raised her children in an interfaith household with Jewish husband Michael Feldman, according to the New York Times.
Speaking about ‘faith’, Savannah told the publication, “I’ve always been fundamentally aware that the center of the universe is not there. Faith really helps you know your place in the world. And I really value that. And I find it endlessly fascinating. Believing in God, loving God, believing in a merciful God… [it] It permeates everything I feel and the way I look at the world.” In a 2024 article, he said he grew up in a ‘very churchy’ family.
Nancy, meanwhile, attends St. Andrew’s Presbyterian. He was reported missing after failing to attend church services on Sunday. Authorities believe he was taken after dinner Saturday, with Annie, and before Sunday morning.
