In a major update amid the ongoing search for Nancy Guthrie, Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos said he believes the 84-year-old mother of Today show host Savannah is still alive.

He emphasized that his department is treating all tips and leads very seriously.

“The leads we get are important to us. They’re valuable, and we’re sharing them with the FBI and others,” the sheriff commented.

Nancy was allegedly abducted from her $1 million home in Tucson, Arizona, late Saturday or early Sunday, the Daily Mail reported, citing police officials.

Missing Nancy Guthrie case: Hundreds of leads, but no suspects identifiedDuring a press conference Tuesday, Sheriff Nanos said that while law enforcement has received “hundreds of leads” in the case, no suspects have yet been identified.

TMZ reported that a ransom note was sent to their newsroom on Tuesday, demanding millions in Bitcoin for Nancy’s release. The suspected kidnappers instructed that the cryptocurrency be transferred to a specific address, which the outlet confirmed was legitimate.

Trump and Savannah’s appealMeanwhile, President Donald Trump made a plea for the safe return of Savannah Guthrie’s mother as authorities continue to search for her, expressing concern that she may not survive without essential daily medication.

On Monday, Savannah issued an emotional plea for fans to keep Nancy in their thoughts and prayers to help bring them home.

“We believe in prayer. We believe in unity, in love, in voices raised in hope. We believe in goodness, we believe in humanity. Above all, we believe in Him. Thank you for lifting up your prayers with us for our dear mother, our dear Nancy, a woman of deep conviction, a good and faithful servant,” Savannah wrote on Instagram.
