In the early hours of Sunday, February 1, multiple gunshots were fired at Bollywood filmmaker Rohit Shetty’s house in Mumbai. Similar to the cafe cases involving Salman Khan and Kapil Sharma, the incident sent shockwaves through the Hindi film industry. The Lawrence Bishnoi gang has claimed responsibility for the attack as investigators continue their investigation. Police have arrested 5 people who are believed to be involved in this incident. All the five suspects hail from Pune, a city in Maharashtra. Authorities are investigating to find out the motive behind the incident and to find out if there is any other larger conspiracy.

The Lawrence Bishnoi gang has claimed responsibility
The crime was committed by the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, which published news targeting celebrities. In a statement, they said, “Ram Ram, Jai Bajrang Bali to all brothers. Today there is a shooting at the house of film director Rohit Shetty (Shetty Tower) in Mumbai. Subham Longar, Arju Bishnoi and boxer Hari Haasan Sambu have claimed responsibility. Trailer, if he doesn’t understand what we are saying, the next shot will not come out of the house, but this is a warning to the entire Bollywood.”

Shots were fired outside Rohit’s gym
Police sources quoted by FPJ said the attacker drove a motorcycle into Juhu area, parked a short distance away and strolled in the direction of Shetty Tower. Before the assailant fled the area, bullets were fired outside Rohit Shetty’s personal gym located on the first level of the building.
Gym equipment was found at the scene, and as Shetty is known for regularly working out at the gym to maintain his fitness, the shooting location is the filmmaker’s natural workout spot. Police are actively investigating the manner of the attack.

Apart from another forensic team that arrived at Shetty’s house to help in the investigation, a team of forensic experts is now collecting samples from the gymnasium and a nearby balcony. As part of the investigation, the Juhu police have recorded the statement of Rohit Shetty.
