Bengaluru Rural Superintendent of Police MV Chandra Kanth said the death appears to be accidental but a detailed investigation is underway. “Primarily, it appears to be a case of suffocation. The workers cooked food late at night with the doors and windows completely closed. The gas stove was on, and smoke seems to have filled the room, causing suffocation. However, we are checking all possible angles,” he said.
He also said that the fifth roommate of the deceased found the bodies. “We are also checking whether the deceased consumed any drugs or substances before sleeping. The forensic and post-mortem reports will clarify the exact cause of death. At this stage, nothing can be ruled out. We have registered a case of unusual death and started investigation,” added the SP.
