Rajya Sabha member and Nationalist Congress Party leader Sunetra Pawar has become the first woman Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra. She succeeds her late husband Ajit Pawar, who died in a plane crash earlier this week.

What is the total assets of Sunetra Power?According to its affidavit filed before the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Sunetra Power had a total income of ₹4,22,21,010 or ₹4.2 crores. This is as per the income tax returns filed for the financial year 2022-23.
Further, his assets including movable and immovable properties are recorded ₹ 1,27,59,98,205 ( ₹127 crore). Among these assets, immovable assets are accounted for ₹30.3 crores, while the value of immovable assets disclosed by him was Rs ₹97 crores.
His liability is stated as 17 crores.

immovable propertySunetra Power in terms of fixed assets ₹13 crores of agricultural land and ₹37 crores worth of non-agricultural land.
His residential buildings included the value of a flat ₹4 crores and a flat in Jhiroji Apartments, Kalyani Nagar ₹10 crores in Sindhu Housing Society, Pune. He also owned two other properties, one in Subhada Apartments in Mumbai. The total value of his residential building was ₹35 crores according to the affidavit.
Sunetra Power’s liabilities include loans from banks and financial institutions ₹16 crores.
In the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, he was defeated by his sister-in-law Supriya Sul by 1.5 lakh votes from Baramati. But later he was elected to the Rajya Sabha. His nomination as Deputy CM was proposed by senior NCP leader Chhagan Bhujbal and supported by other senior leaders and he was unanimously elected NCP leader.
