New information about Jeffrey Epstein’s interactions with business executives like Howard Lutnick and Elon Musk, as well as political associates connected to Donald Trump, has been made public in Justice Department records. It also contains what appears to be a 2002 email from Melania Trump to Ghislaine Maxwell, an associate of Epstein.

On Friday, January 30, 2026, in Washington, the Justice Department announced the release of three million pages of documents in the most recent Jeffrey Epstein exposé. Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanch answers a question from a reporter during a press conference. (AP) According to a report by The Associated Press, by Friday night, over 6,00,000 files had been made public. However, millions more have been identified as potentially releasable, which has drawn criticism from Democrats who claim the disclosure is insufficient.

Unseen communications involving Trump associates are among the most intriguing disclosures.

Here are five major conclusions: According to the AP report, emails from 2012 and 2013 reveal that Epstein corresponded with Elon Musk about visiting his private island, which was later connected to numerous accusations of sexual abuse. The records detail exchanges from 2018 between Epstein and individuals described as Trump associates, including discussions about Trump’s public threats to remove Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell. Musk responded that it would likely be just himself and his partner at the time, mentioning the “smallest group” on the island, when Epstein asked how many people he would want to take on the helicopter flight. It’s unclear whether any visits have occurred. According to the AP report, Epstein also extended an island invitation to then-financier and current Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick in December 2012. Musk has since stated that he turned down Epstein’s invitations, posting on X in 2025. According to emails, Lutnick’s wife enthusiastically replied, recommending that they board the yacht with their kids. The files also contain schedules pertaining to drinks that Epstein had with the couple in 2011 and subsequent correspondence regarding construction in the vicinity of their residence. Lutnick has publicly distanced herself from Epstein, describing him as “gross” and saying she broke up years ago.Another revelation involves figures in Trump’s larger political orbit. In a 2002 email to Epstein, a publicist listed dozens of attendees at a Christmas party, including famous people like Martha Stewart, including Kevin Warsh, whom Trump nominated on Friday to be the next chair of the Federal Reserve. According to Reuters, the files also contain a 2002 email from Melania Trump, a longtime associate of Epstein, that appears to be an email to Ghislaine Maxwell, citing a New York Magazine article about Epstein. Wersch did not immediately comment, and the records did not clarify whether Wersch had any relationship with Epstein or why the message was shared with him. “Jay’s story in NY magazine is fantastic. The message said, “You look great in the picture.” “Give me a call when you get back to NY.” Although Trump later claimed that the two men had stopped socializing years earlier, another redacted message from 2012 asked if Epstein could go to Trump’s Mar-a-Lago club after Christmas rather than his island, the report added. Internal emails between federal investigators, dated August 2025, are also included in the release.

These talk about the scandalous accusations against Trump and Epstein, but they point out that none of the claims have been validated and that some of the accusations have been found to be untrustworthy. According to the Justice Department, some of the documents included exaggerated and untrue accusations against Trump.
