Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Sviridenko resigned on Sunday after President Zelensky announced new changes in the Ukrainian government, saying he had offered a new and important position to the former prime minister.Svyrydenko, who served as Ukraine’s economy minister, was appointed prime minister in July 2025 at the age of 39 after playing a leading role in securing a mining agreement between Ukraine and the United States, which is seen as an important way to link American interests with Ukraine’s security.In a statement on social media, Sverdenko said she was “proud to have the honor of leading the government during one of the most difficult periods in Ukraine’s modern history.” She also said she had discussed “next steps” with Zelensky, but did not provide details.Zelensky announced his resignation, saying that he was “changing his political strategy.”
