CBS and Dick Clark Productions revealed on Tuesday that Taylor Swift is the front-runner for the 2026 American Music Awards, with the world’s biggest star receiving eight nominations for the upcoming ceremony.
Swift is already the most awarded artist in AMA history with 40 wins, and is eligible for several top categories this year, including Artist of the Year and Album of the Year with The life of a showgirl And song of the year for Ophelia’s fate.
Aside from Swift, the runners-up are Morgan Wallen, Sabrina Carpenter, Olivia Deen, and Sombre, all of whom have received seven nominations.
Carpenter is nominated for Artist, Album and Song of the Year Man’s best friend and its lead single, “Manchild,” while Wallen competes in the same categories I am the problemM. Dean and Somber are competing for New Artist of the Year. Dean also received a nomination for Album of the Year with Breakout Project The art of lovingAnd the noteworthy song of the year for “Man I Need.” Sumpre’s “Back to Friends” was also nominated for Song of the Year.
Dean and Somber are the first-time nominees, along with Alex Warren, BigXthaPlug, KATSEYE, Leon Thomas, PinkPantheress, RAYE, Model Model, SIENNA SPIRO and Tate McRae. Ejae, Audrey Nona, and Rey Ami, the singing voices behind Demon hunters in kpop‘ Huntr/X, continuing their work “Gold” awards season as they compete for Song of the Year, Best Vocal Performance and Best Pop Song.
The American Music Awards will take place on May 25 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas at 5 p.m., and are scheduled to be hosted by Queen Latifah. Winners are determined entirely by fan voting, and voting is open now.
The American Music Awards were created by Dick Clark Productions. DCP is owned by Penske Media Corporation, Hollywood ReporterParent company, in a subsidiary joint venture between Penske Media and Eldridge.
