D4vd is charged with first degree murder in the death of Celeste Rivas.
d4vd singer David Anthony Burke has been charged with first-degree murder in connection with the mysterious disappearance of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez whose body was found in the singer’s abandoned Tesla.
A Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Officer announced the charges on Monday. D4vd was arrested Thursday and charged with first-degree murder with special circumstances, persistent sexual acts, lewd and lascivious sexual acts with an individual younger than 14, and mutilation of human remains, Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman announced at a news conference.D4vd could face a maximum sentence of life in prison without parole or the death penalty if convicted.The disappearance of celeste rivas and the possible involvement of d4vd was one of the most followed news out of the hollywood hills last year as they are believed to be in a relationship. Celeste was a minor when she died and the timeline of the crime is unclear, as what was recovered from her body were merely her remains and she had been murdered much earlier. In September 2025, Celeste’s decomposed body was found in the trunk of a Tesla recorded on d4vd while he was in Minneapolis on a world tour to promote his debut album.
Days passed before it was confirmed that the remains belonged to Celeste. It was not clearly determined when she was killed until the prosecutor on Monday read the charge and said the body had been there for four months.Celeste was first reported missing in February 2024, and last contacted her family in May 2024. The Tesla where her remains were found turned up as having been left parked in July 2025.
He did not arouse any suspicion at first. In August, the car received a parking ticket because it was still parked in the same position. In September, the car was towed to the yard where the remains were found. Investigators found evidence that Celeste was alive in January 2025, nearly a year after she disappeared.
