Jenny How, head of scripted series for the US and Canada at Netflix, is set to deliver a keynote at the upcoming Banff World Media Festival.
Howe, who joined Netflix in 2018 and helped develop Shondaland’s Bridgerton and Anna’s invention It also appears like Beef, Night Agent, Diplomat and Untamedwill be part of the top series in Banff after replacing Peter Friedlander in the series’ top drama role in North America last year.
“Jenny Howe’s leadership helps shape the stories that audiences see around the world,” Sean Cohan, Banff chairman and president of Bell Media, said in a statement Thursday. “Her work embodies the creativity, innovation and global perspective that defines this festival, and we look forward to attendees hearing her insights directly.”
Howe’s upcoming list includes a retelling of Little house on the meadowlimited series Influencers Starring Julia Garner, sports comedy FalconLed by Will Ferrell. Additional keynote speakers will be announced in the coming weeks ahead of the 47th Banff World Media Festival scheduled for June 14-17 in the Canadian Rockies.
Previous Summit Series speakers include Chuck Lorre, Anjali Sood, Jeffrey Katzenberg, Paula Kerger, Rob Wade, Berlina Igbokwe, Bella Bajaria, Keith Le Joy, Ted Sarandos, and Maverick Carter. Banff announced earlier that Spain would be the country of honor this year.
The TV festival will once again combine the Banff Gala and the International Rockie Awards competition to celebrate industry and TV talent in one event.
