There is a major political development taking place in Bihar, with sources indicating that Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is likely to be sent to the Rajya Sabha, sources said on Wednesday.

A crucial meeting of the Janata Dal (United) is underway in which senior leaders, including Sanjay Jha and Rajiv Ranjan Singh, are attending. Elections are scheduled to be held in Bihar for five Rajya Sabha seats.
The speculation comes soon after Nitish’s son Shrawan Kumar was expected to enter the Rajya Sabha on a JD(U) ticket, making his official entry into politics.
While the JD(U) retains two Rajya Sabha seats, the BJP is expected to contest two seats. BJP president Nitin Nabin is also scheduled to enter Parliament from one of the two BJP seats.
