The allegations came as 18 Delhi Metro stations in central Delhi remained closed for the fourth consecutive day on Saturday.
Opposition leaders on Saturday criticized the Center over the closure of several Delhi Metro stations and other restrictions imposed around central Delhi amid the ongoing Cricket Janta Party protests at Jantar Mantar. They accused the government of trying to suppress students demanding accountability for the alleged paper leak.
The allegations came as 18 Delhi Metro stations were closed in central Delhi on Saturday, four consecutive days of such restrictions, due to security concerns surrounding the ongoing CJP protest.

Subway closure in Delhi
According to the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), stations will remain closed from 7.30 am until further instructions on Saturday, though interchange facilities at Rajiv Chowk, Mandi House and Central Secretariat will continue to operate.
The stations affected are Lok Kalyan Marg, Rajiv Chowk, Patel Chowk, Ramakrishna Ashram Marg, Barkhamba Road, Supreme Court, Seva Tirth, Janpath, Mandi House, Central Secretariat, ITO, Delhi Gate, Indraprastha, Khan Market, Jor Bagh, Shivaji Stadium, Gandhiwalan, New Delhi.

Rahul Gandhi talks about Metro closure
Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi alleged that the government responded to the protests by shutting down public services instead of addressing the concerns of students.
“Shut down the metro. Shut down the roads. Shut down the shops. Shut down the internet. Shut down the food. The government has taken these harsh steps against students who are demanding their rights. But there is only one thing Mr. Modi has not been able to shut down – paper leaks,” Gandhi wrote in a post on X in Hindi.

TMC MP criticizes metro closure in Delhi
Trinamool Rajya Sabha MP Sagarika Ghose also took aim at the Center over security measures in the national capital, accusing the government of disrupting public life while trying to curb the student-led agitation.
“76-year-old @narendramodi sits in his mansion making unwatchable Instagram clips to try to somehow compete with Gen Z, while his government 1) closes 18 metro stations,” Ghose wrote on X.
She added: “…2) Closing all roads leading to central Delhi, 3) Putting up internet jammers, 4) Stopping food supply to children in Jantar Mantar, 5) Prompting Hindutva leaders to start abusing children, 6) Bringing in huge security forces to frisk, block and push ordinary citizens. The @narendramaudi government has failed.”
