New Delhi – India Post has launched Gyan Post, a new service for students and children.
The service is meant to send books safely across India.
The launch took place in Hyderabad ahead of Vasant Panchami.

The programme was held at the Hyderabad General Post Office.
Senior postal officials led the event at the Philatelic Bureau.
Students from a government school in Nampally attended the launch.
Books given to school children
Children from Classes IV and V received books in Hindi and English.
The books included moral stories and lessons on stamps.
The aim was to build interest in reading from a young age.
Message from the Union Minister
A special postcard was given to each child.
It carried an inspiring message from Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia.
The note stressed the value of reading and good habits.
Learning through stamps and letters
Students were shown how stamps tell stories of history and culture.
They learned how to write letters, paste stamps and post mail.
The session helped children understand postal services in a simple way.

What can be sent by Gyan Post
Gyan Post allows school books, study material and learning texts.
Only non-commercial books are allowed.
Each packet must be clearly marked as “Gyan Post”.
Rules kept simple
Books must not carry ads or business content.
Packets are sent through surface mail and can be tracked.
Extra services like registration are optional.
India Post says Gyan Post will help books reach children in every region.
The service supports reading, learning and moral values for students nationwide.
