The Thalapathy Vijay starrer Jana Nayagan had a strong theatrical success at the box office which was released on July 23. The H Vinoth-directed political drama is currently on its first weekend, and the latest numbers suggest that it will witness a record opening.

As per live estimates shared by trade analyst Sacnilk, ‘Jana Nayagan’ is currently running across 6,576 shows with 38.8% occupancy and has collected a net collection of Rs 14.86 crore so far.‘Jana Nayagan’ took its total net collection in India to Rs 107.21 crore. The film’s total collection in India also rose to Rs 125.88 crore.

The film stars Tamil Chief Minister Vijay and is like an event for his fans in the state. The Tamil version remains the largest contributor to its overall collections and occupancy in theatres.The Tamil version’s live numbers indicate that it has grossed Rs 13.05 crore with 3,468 shows. The number tracking website also reveals that ‘Jana Nayagan’ reached a total occupancy of 66% today in the morning.On the other hand, the Hindi version grossed Rs 1.30 lakh with 2,480 shows. However, the numbers were low among Telugu audience as it clocked Rs 51 lakh in 628 shows.

‘Jana Nayagan’ has also done really well in overseas markets.
By the end of the third day, the film had collected Rs 20 crore, taking the total overseas collection to Rs 63.50 crore and the global collection to Rs 171.84 crore.
