Model and actress Rhea Ahir, who became the viral face of student protests in Mumbai against alleged paper leaks, on Friday demanded action instead of words following Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s message on taking strict action against the culprits.
Ahir became a face The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) protests in Mumbai after a video showed it standing in front of a Mumbai Police vehicle during demonstrations in Shivaji Park.
“Sure, those were the demands of the students. So, the demands are being listened to; that’s nice. If they are actually implemented, after being heard, and start bearing fruit, it’s one thing to say, but for it to actually happen is another thing. The alleged mastermind of the 2024 leaks has been released on bail and cleared of all allegations,” Ahir told ANI on Friday. So, I hope it doesn’t happen this time.”
PM Modi also talked about setting up fast track courts to deal with paper leakage cases. In response, Ahir pointed to a clip that went viral on social media and said: “I know you’re going to say it will happen, but we really want to see it happen.”

In a video message, Modi said the proposed legislation would be discussed and finalized in the Union Cabinet meeting on Friday.
“The Cabinet will discuss the issue of paper leaks on Friday, and taking suggestions from Cabinet colleagues, further measures will be finalized. On Monday, when the second week of the monsoon session of Parliament begins, a bill will be introduced with provisions to take strong action against paper leaks, and we will try to pass it as soon as possible,” PM Modi said in a video posted on social media.
He said that the draft law proposes fast-track courts and stricter penalties for those involved in leaking papers.

The Center further stressed that no action will be taken against peaceful protesters and those who participated in the July 20 march to Parliament.
