The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) on Wednesday claimed that the Delhi Police placed a “completely destroyed vehicle” outside the Jantar Mantar protest site, where supporters have been camping out for over a month. They also questioned the purpose and intent behind this move.

The post also questioned the actions of the police, asking: “Why did you put this car here @DelhiPolice? What do you intend to show with this car?”
“Everyone should remember that this vehicle was brought here in this condition, and it is important to register it before they can blame peaceful protesters,” the post read.
The Delhi Police did not respond to the allegation contained in the materials submitted.

CJP claims internet shutdown near protest site
Internet services were suspended around Jantar Mantar and other parts of central Delhi late on Wednesday as tensions rose between protesters and security officials.
In another post on X, CJP founder Abhijit Debki said: “Internet service has been shut down in Jantar Mantar. Is the government planning another brutal crackdown?”
He also appealed to the police and paramilitary forces deployed at the protest site not to use force against the demonstrators.
“Calling on the police and paramilitary forces deployed to crush the protest. Do not comply with illegal orders asking you to beat up innocent protesters. This is your test too. Will you stand with the people or the tyrants,” he wrote.

The protests continue after July 20
The CJP’s massive sit-in at Jantar Mantar continued for the third consecutive day after the ‘Sansad Chalo’ rally on July 20, with the protest site remaining under tight security. The group has been protesting at Jantar Mantar since June 20.
The party accused the police of using excessive force during the march, while Delhi Police said the action was taken after the demonstrators tried to violate security arrangements.
The demonstrators are demanding accountability for alleged irregularities in competitive examinations, reforms in the education system, and the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. The demonstrators also demanded compensation for the families of students who died by suicide due to the problem of paper leakage.

Wangchuk does not seek any punitive action against the protesters
Activist Sonam Wangchuk, who joined the protest on June 28, has been on an indefinite hunger strike since then. Wangchuk on Wednesday said he would end his fast if the Center assures that no punitive action or FIRs will be taken against the students and youth who participated in the agitation.
Wangchuk is currently admitted to Medanta Hospital in Gurugram after being transferred from Safdarjung Hospital following an order from the Delhi High Court.

Delhi Police claimed that five security personnel, including two ACP-rank officers, an inspector, a head constable and a constable, were injured during clashes near Jantar Mantar after a section of protesters became unruly. According to the police, the demonstrators threw stones at security personnel and expelled them.
