Travis Scott Talks Landing 'Odyssey': Admits He Was 'Really Nervous'

Christopher Nolan’s film “The Odyssey” has caused quite a stir online. With many people discussing the dialogue choices as well as the casting, the addition of Travis Scott to the list came as a big surprise to many.

The famous rapper was depicted as one of the birds in the film that tells the story of Odysseus, the king of Ithaca. The rapper candidly shared that he got the role after Christopher Nolan reached out to him personally and invited him to take on the character of the poet.

He added: “My phone went off and he just said, ‘Chris.’ And I’m thinking, ‘Well, I don’t know what this is.’ Maybe he wants to go to a show? So I asked him, ‘Are you interested in acting in a movie?’ And I’m like, ‘I mean, I guess, you know?’ [role]?”But I didn’t think it was for him.

I thought it might be someone else’s.The 35-year-old also shared that the request surprised him to the core, as this was his first acting role. He stated that most of what he did in front of the camera was only for his music videos. He added: “I’m like, ‘Off, wait. Wait. Wait. Did you know I make music?'” Then he gave me his whole thesis on why…” he added.Travis Scott said that Christopher Nolan inspired him deeplyThe rapper also shared a few words about what it was like working with the legendary director and what it was like to make his acting debut.

“I’m really enjoying his time. He’s really inspired me; he’s a real mentor to me outside of this business. So I’m like, ‘Oh my God, whatever you’re into, I’m down,'” Scott shared.
