Fardeen Khan recalls Feroz Khan’s relationship with Farida Jalal; “I always remembered her with great affection,” she says.
Actor Fardeen Khan shared a warm message for veteran actress Farida Jalal, recalling his long association with her and remembering the great respect his late father, Feroz Khan, had for the actress. The post came after the two actors recently met again, with Fardeen describing the reunion as an unforgettable moment.
Sharing a photo with Farida Jalal on Instagram, Fardeen looked back at the days when she knew him as a little girl during the filming of ‘Dharmatma’.
He said that those early memories remained with him over the years, and he expressed his happiness at meeting the veteran actress again after a long break.
Farden remembers his father’s admiration
In his emotional note, Fardeen revealed that Feroz Khan always praised Farida Jalal and greatly admired her talent as an actress.
He also said that his father enjoyed working with her and held him in high regard throughout his career. Fardeen wrote: “It was a pleasure to meet one of the finest actresses of Indian cinema again after so many years. Farida Aunty knew me as a child during Dharmatma, and I have always remembered her with great affection.
Khan Saab had high regard for her as an actress and always talked about how much he enjoyed working with her.
Meeting after years
Fardeen also talked about meeting Farida Jalal again and highlighted an interesting coincidence in their recent professional journey. Although they have been part of two projects together in recent years, the actors have not appeared in a single scene together. Hoping that would change in the future, he ended his letter on a light-hearted note. “It was great to see you yesterday, Aunty Farida. You really made my day,” Fardeen added.
Unfortunately, this is the second series we’ve worked on together without sharing a scene. Maybe she’ll be third time lucky.” Earlier in their careers, Fardeen and Farida worked together in the 2002 romantic drama ‘Kuch Tum Kaho Kuch Hum Kahein’. Recently, they both appeared in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar’, though they did not share screen space.
Dharmatma Heritage
Released in 1975, ‘Dharmatma’ remains one of the landmark films of Feroz Khan’s career. He not only directed and produced the film but also played the lead role of Ranbir. Farida Jalal plays Mona, while the film also features Hema Malini, Rekha, Premnath, Danny Denzongpa, Ranjit, Helen and Imtiaz Khan in important roles. With a career spanning nearly five decades, Farida Jalal has appeared in over 200 films and remains one of the most admired character actors in Bollywood.
The veteran actress was recently seen in the 2026 releases “O” Romeo and “Welcome to the Jungle.”
