Ten years after Ryan Gosling vented his guilt for keeping his hand tilted in La La Land, the film’s poster has finally been changed. The 45-year-old actor took Hollywood by storm in 2016 when he revealed his regrets about a particular dance situation.
Not only was he initially thought the curve would look “cool,” but the frame also became the official poster for the film in plain sight. Now, in the poster for the award-winning film’s 10th anniversary re-release, Gosling’s hand has been subtly edited to look upward, mirroring Emma Stone. After winning a record seven Golden Globes and six Academy Awards, including Best Director and Best Cinematography, La La Land will be back in theaters starting Sunday, August 16, 2026.

In 2024, the Oscar-winning actor expressed that the poster continued to haunt him even after the film’s inspiring success. “We’re dancing, Emma and I, and I didn’t know this was going to be the movie poster.
