Yash calls Ramayana India’s dream project, says Ranbir Kapoor ‘surrendered himself’ to Lord Ram; Sai praises Pallavi as an ‘impeccable actor’
The promotional campaign for director Nitesh Tiwari’s much-awaited epic Ramayana got off to a grand start in New Delhi on Saturday, with actor Yash saying the film is driven by a shared vision rather than individual stardom.
Speaking at the Ramayana: Pratham Sankalp event at Bharat Mandapam, the actor said that the entire cast and crew have come together with one mission – to take the story of Lord Ram to audiences across the world.The event was attended by Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, Sunny Deol, Arun Govil, director Nitesh Tiwari and producer Namit Malhotra, among others.

Greeting the audience in several Indian languages before switching to Hindi, Yash thanked producer Namit Malhotra for believing in a project of this huge scale and for trusting him in the role of Ravana.“I am really happy to be a part of this amazing project,” Yash said. “The credit for reaching this stage goes to Namit Malhotra. I am grateful to him for giving me the opportunity to play such an important character.”Describing Ramayana as “India’s dream”, Yash said the film is much bigger than any one actor.“We all came together with one vision and one conviction: to take this story to a global platform,” he said.
“Everyone has put aside their individual interests. There is only one common interest, which is to tell the story of Prabhu Shri Ram to audiences across the world and celebrate him in our country.”He added that producing a film of this scale requires immense courage and credited Malhotra for making it possible.

The KGF star also thanked director Nitesh Tiwari for guiding him through the complexities of playing Ravana.“Nitish sir, thank you for guiding me, understanding what the character requires, answering my questions and helping me do it,” he said.Although Yash did not reveal details about his interpretation of Ravana, he spoke of the trust he shared with the director throughout the process.Apart from acting in the film, Yash is also associated with Ramayana as a producer through his banner Monster Mind Creations, which has partnered with Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios.

Yash had praised his co-stars, especially Ranbir Kapoor, who played the role of Lord Ram.“Ranbir has been exceptional,” he said. “I think the whole of India will realize how much he has surrendered to this role and will see the magic he has created.”Speaking about Sai Pallavi, who plays Sita, Yash described her as an “impeccable actress”.“When you see her performing, her eyes say it all,” he said.He also praised veteran actress Shobana, saying she brought grace and dignity to her role, and predicted that Ravi Dubey, who plays Lakshman, will emerge as one of the film’s biggest surprises.“It will be a surprise in this film,” Yash said, adding that the audience can expect many memorable performances from across the cast.
Ramayana is gearing up for a Diwali 2026 release
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the film stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Ravana, Sunny Deol as Hanuman, Ravi Dubey as Lakshman, and Arun Govil as King Dasharath.The two-part saga is being extensively prepared, with the first part scheduled to release during Diwali 2026, followed by the second part on Diwali 2027. The first trailer of the film is expected to be unveiled globally on July 24.
