Rajesh Sharma was hospitalized in Kolkata earlier this month after suffering an insect bite that led to complications. The incident took place at Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad, where he was shooting for the film Fawzi starring Prabhas.

The FWICE boss confirms his layoff and upcoming travel plans

The actor was reportedly discharged from the hospital recently and is now recovering at home. He is also preparing to return to work soon. BN Tiwari, president of FWICE (Federation of Western India Cine Employees), told Bollywood Hungama, “Rajesh Sharma ji has been discharged from the hospital recently. He is currently recovering at his residence in Mumbai.

He is also scheduled to travel abroad in the coming days to shoot a project.

How did the incident unfold on July 8?

According to statements made by actress Sudipta Chatterjee and director-producer Agnidev Chatterjee shortly after the July 8 incident, Sharma was bitten by the insect while talking to local technicians in an area with dense vegetation nearby. Since the bite was not serious at that time, he skipped immediate medical attention and boarded his scheduled flight to Kolkata.

Soon after, he began to feel severe pain in his right leg, developed a high fever, and became increasingly agitated – resulting in him being admitted to the city’s Manipal Hospital.

An update on his condition in a few days

A few days later, Sudipta Chatterjee shared an update indicating that the actor’s condition had improved, though he remained hospitalized at the time.

Hope Mahadev blesses him with a quick and complete recovery. Jaldi theek ho ja yaar, abhi saath baith ke bhot hansna hai.”
