Brenda Fricker has died at the age of 81 at her home in Dublin. She departed for her heavenly abode on July 16, her longtime agency, Phil Belfield, confirmed. The BBC reported that Belfield shared, “We will never see her like her again, and the world is made less important by missing her. It was an honor to know her, love her, and work with her, and she will always have a place in my heart and in the hearts of so many film and television fans around the world.”
“Shortly after news of her death spread, tributes and well wishes began pouring in. Her “Casualty” co-star, Derek Thompson, released a statement saying, “Truly the best person I’ve ever worked with, and I’ve worked with a lot of actors,” while Cathy Shipton from the same show shared, “She lived her life so bravely, flaws and all. I loved her for her wit and wit and her wonderful sense of humor. Life happened when I was around Brenda.”
We shared a love of dogs – Collies, and my daughter Juno was named after her favorite Collie. I love her and miss her and I’m so glad I got to know her.” Tánaiste Simone Harris also paid his respects and described her as a “national treasure”.At the time of writing, her agent has not shared any information about how she died.
